This is one band I’ve been hearing about for some time now, getting out on what appears to be totally DIY terms. If your smart, and you want to play some underground noise, do you really need a record label to do things you could do yourself?
Grind is one of those genres that somehow people are always able to muster up tons of fun and conviction for, especially when they go basement style. These dudes pull off old school grindcore with a dual vocal, hoarse throat approach, simple chords, raw production just loose enough to sound like it could fall apart at any minute, and even includes a few sub 10-second songs, going all Napalm Death style on us!
So Trash Talk made their own label. They probably could’ve gotten signed easy, but one has to wonder sometimes what the point is, especially the way the internet is these days. From basement to 7″s and CDs, this band has their credibility cake and eats it too.
