Good Riddance - Remain in Memory: The Final Show (Live)

“Remain in Memory: The Final Show” is a very appropriate ending to a very successful 15 year career. You could tell the end was fast approaching, as they’ve only released 2 albums during their last 6 years as a band. And what better way to end it then to play where it all began.
Good Riddance captured their very last performance in front of their hometown of Santa Cruz, California. The vast set list includes most of their best work spanning each of their albums plus two EPs. Their style of music is energetic, melody driven, political punk rock, reminiscent of the copious punk acts of California. This final live effort has 31 tracks including “Letters Home”, the heart-rending tale about love and loss, the anti-American politics fuelled “America Flies First Class”, and the crowd pleasing “Heresy, Hypocrisy, and Revenge”, a song about the scars of a relationship turned sour with obsession for self-centeredness.
Overall the album feels complete, like they left with no regrets. The production is clean, the audience is alive, and the entire hour flies right by. I have always believed a band should be able to play live, and this record shows that they took their music rather seriously. “Remain in Memory: The Final Show” is an excellent buy for a long term GR follower as well as someone who’s a fan of `90`s punk and trying out the band for the first time.
