Dysrhythmia/Rothko - Fractures

Have you ever seen a movie so good, you don’t want to spoil anything for your friends, because the whole thing is just that good? That’s the way this split is. To describe the first, and only song from Dysrhythmia on this split is that for the most part it takes place in the shimmering flowing world created by Neurosis and pioneered by Isis and Cult of Luna. The introduction builds slowly to the galloping middle, then finally on to the echoing end. It’s 15 minutes well worth the trip, because unlike many instrumental bands who can get hung up on wandering aimlessly, you can really feel the storyline of “Earthquake” progressing forward.

Rothko fits their side as wonderful companion to Dysrhythmia, but preferring to dot their sparse landscape with little bits of noise as they flow nicely from their side of the split to the other, closing up the story in a calm, relaxed fashion.
