The band name and album title had me fooled. I was thinking long, building metalgaze, when instead I got noisy ADHD grind with nigh, snotty vocals similar to The Locust, only with more scream. Sound cool so far? I’m sure it does. And so does the idea of locking up Every Time I Die and Premonitions Of War in a closet under the threat of imminent physical punishment, up to and including dismemberment if they don’t manage to finish writing their latest album in less than a week. Unfortunately due to the lacking of anything at resembling a hook, most of the urgency and intensity is lost, not matter how funny the song titles like “We put the fun in Funeral”, super-short songs (the longest mammoth at 1:36) and off-the hooks fast those triggered drums get. Since it’s an older release and I see tons of potential in these lads, so they’re probably only a few splits, Eps, and 7″’s away from hitting their stride.
