Monarkh – Rites Profanes

My very first ambient album! This one is actually surprisingly easy to sum up; it’s an ambient industrial soundtrack to panning across the destroyed landscape of a post-apocalyptic sic-fi movie, such as the Terminator series. Expect industrial machinery and clangs, as well as subtle synths, and the rare song containing spoken word dialogue in french, as Monarkh is one man from Quebec. The upside is that ambient is one of scariest kinds of music there is, because it’s the stuff that people get killed to in movies. The downside is that “Rites Profanes” never picks up to action speed, like a laser-gun firefight. Intriguing nonetheless.
