Twilight Vertrieb - Record Label Pack

Twilight Vertrieb is actually more of a distro than a record label. While they deal with quite a few standard releases that you can get normally from your regular distro, they did have a bunch of albums from Det Germanske Folket and Blood Fire Death, both labels originating from Germany I do believe. It can be a little difficult to make out what’s going on exactly from those labels because they don’t deal predominantly in English.
Both record labels specialize in black metal, but their focus isn’t as much on “raw” styles as it is mostly on creative and eclectic styles. Det Germanske Folket seems to focus more on black metal that’s tied in with folk of viking influenced black metal bands. Blood Fire Death seems to focus more on more experimental black metal.
The level of production and effort from most of the bands on these labels is actually pretty high. I’m guessing what might be preventing some of the bands from growing larger is their adherence to native languages from the bands respective home countries. I hope that isn’t actually the case. In this instance, actually finding and getting your hands on the releases from Det Germanske Folket and Blood Fire Death is actually akin to getting your hands on some fine wine, unlike some other small record labels which simply try to capitalize on certain scenes simply because those scenes are underground.
Finally, due to the fact that I have so many releases from Twilight Vertrieb, it’s taken me awhile to get around to doing these reviews. There’s also going to be a second part to the article with some previous years releases, since this article will focus on this years releases.
